Digital twins & virtual control units: Virtualization using the Software-in-the-Loop method

Duration: 1 to 2 days

Participants: up to 12 people

Location: virtual or in person

Cost: on request

Abstract blue technology illustration with radiant lights suggesting a loop, representing software-in-the-loop.

Accelerating embedded software development using Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) and virtualization techniques. This training looks at SiL use cases, virtual control units (vECUs), co-simulation, and industry standards such as FMI 3.0 and VDA 710. It provides a solid understanding of the theory, supplemented by a practical session in a cloud-based development environment. Ideal for modernizing prototyping as well as verification and validation processes in embedded systems.

Objective and training content

The training enables participants to use SiL effectively to optimize development and testing processes. They learn how virtual control units and simulated environments can be used strategically to accelerate projects and improve software quality in the long term.

Training content:

  • Principles and goals of Software-in-the-Loop
  • Fields of application, and technical variants
  • Possible applications in software development
  • Creating virtual control units (vECUs)
  • Practical exercises in a cloud-based development environment

The content of the training can be tailored to your project-specific requirements and questions.
